Crafts

There are two main craft fairs held in Mieres. One is the Christmas Craft Fair, held in Jovellanos Park for two weeks. The other is the Astur Market of Cenera, a traditional market which combines the sale of craft products with the demonstration of craft trades, folklore and theatre. The visitor can enjoy live demonstrations of the making of clogs, bobbin lace, woolen yarn or wooden baskets; all in the purest traditional style.

Products made by the members of the Caudal Artisans Association can be purchased in the different establishments in town: wooden carvings, leather, ceramics and glass, along with farmhouse food products, like Urbiés or Cabrales cheese, cider or fabes (beans).
