In the past, the handcrafts of Aller found their maximum expression in the artisanal manufacture of wooden clogs, typical to the area and to the rest of Asturias. In this day and age, there are hardly any craftsmen dedicated to this ancient, deeply rooted trade, that of the clog-maker.

Nowadays, we must highlight the large number of associations and individuals dedicated to handcrafts in the borough, who work in wood-carving and stone-hewing, cabinet-making, restoration, leather, craft textiles& (much of their work is on sale and may be purchased by getting in contact directly with the artisan who made it).

Special mention must be made of what we might call Food Crafts, which for some time now have undergone a boom. This type of handicraft is developed by family firms dedicated to manufacturing different types of foodstuffs, such as the typical homemade cakes and pastries of the borough, liqueurs, jams, honey, cured sausage meats.
