The City of Salamanca, capital of the province of the same name, has a population of more than 150,000 inhabitants, to which we have to add a large number of residents, mainly students, who attend its prestigious University. The city, on the banks of the River Tormes, is situated at an altitude of 800 m. and has a typically continental climate. Its spectacular historical monuments are some of the most outstanding in Spain, a fact that is made patent in its declaration as a World Heritage Site.
