Just as the fundamental exponent of the local gastronomy is the calderillo, in handcrafts it is the capa bejarana (Béjar cape), elaborated with rich cloths from the towns numerous textile factories. This elegant cape, the fruit of an age-old textile tradition that goes back to the 17th century has been sported by famous and important personalities in the history of Spain.

There are also artisans dedicated to ceramics and cooperage, the latter using woods from the abundant oak forests that cover the area.

Basket-weavers in the nearby village of Montemayor del Río use chestnut bark to make their wares, used in the past to transport the fruits of the orchards of this and other lands.

Another handcraft tradition that may be contemplated in this region is that of leather goods and saddles, made from high-quality leathers that have earned a reputation in all of Spain.
