Gastronomy

The typical gastronomy of Santiponce, like in all the popular cuisine of rural Seville, is linked to the land, faithful to the genuineness of the produce that is at hand. So, the great variety of garden produce, pulses, vegetables and the fine olive oil of the region lay the foundations of a very popular cuisine in which we may highlight magnificent dressings and seasonings, traditional meat casseroles, savoury stews, smooth bean hotpots, offal and, thanks to the great popularity of hunting, the renowned arroz caldoso con zorzales (rice and thrush casserole), perdices (partridges) or conejo de campo (rabbit).

As well as this traditional cuisine, the different restaurants in the town also offer an extensive variety of dishes such as the famous carne a la brasa con mojo picón (charcoal-grilled meat with a spicy dip), fish and shellfish from the coast of Andalusia or rice dishes like paella or arroz a la marinera.
