A monotonous trail awaits you after leaving the city of Zamora of extensive cereal plains, although the majority of the route is made up of sound tracks between smallholdings. The numerous dovecots dotted over these fields will be one of the main attractions of the route here. Depending on the time of year, you will be able to see different species of water fowl as you cross Ricovallo Reservoir, while closer to the end of the stage the route borders on the protected nature area of Villafafila Lakes Nature Reserve. Besides its value in winter for different migratory birds, this is one of the areas with the highest density of great bustards in Spain. Noteworthy also, on reaching Granja de Moreruela, is the possibility of visiting the remains of the Monastery of Santa María de Moreruela, one of the most outstanding Cistercian buildings in the country.
